ARTICLE 16: TYPES OF MARITIME TRAFFIC

     

    Maritime traffic can be at high-altitude, cabotage or mixed.

  • It is understood by high-altitude traffic:
  •  

  • The transport of Merchandise that arrive in the country or are sent abroad, and
  •  

  • Navigation between a national port and a foreign port or vice versa;
  •  

  • Marine traffic is understood as cabotage, freight transport or navigation between two points of the country located on the same coast, and
  •  

  • Mixed maritime traffic is understood as:
  •  

  • When a vessel simultaneously performs of the high-altitude and cabotage with the Merchandise it transports, and
  •  

  • The transport of merchandise or the navigation between two points of the national coast located in different coast or, in the same, if a stop is made in a foreign port. (LA: Art. 11) (LA: Art. 20)
