ARTICLE 96: TEMPORARY DISEMBARKATION OF CLOTHES FOR WASHING AND OTHER EFFECTS FOR REPAIR

     

    Temporary disembarkation of clothes for washing or disinfection, as well as other effects for repair, may be carried out with the prior authorization of the Customs Authority, when the captain or general shipping agent or shipping consignee agent of the vessel presents before the corresponding customs a promotion stating the reason for the disembarkation, the list of merchandise to be landed, the deadline and the place where they will be located.

    When the merchandise is re-embarked, they must be presented for review before the corresponding customs, displaying the promotion that was presented at the time of disembarkation.

    Contributions and, where appropriate, compensatory fees, must be paid by the captains, owners of the vessel or the consignees, when the merchandise referred to in this article are not re-shipped within the period indicated in the corresponding promotion, of compliance with articles 20, second paragraph and 53, section III of the Law.
