RULE 1.6.4: PARTIAL SHIPMENTS WITH ADVANCE PAYMENT

For the purposes of article 83, third paragraph of the Law (LA: Art. 83), in the case of imports that arrive by maritime or aerial, that intend to be made in partial shipments, when importers choose to make the payment of contributions on a date prior to the arrival of the merchandise to national territory, they may consider that the fees, taxable bases, currency exchange rates, if applicable, compensatory fees, non-tariff regulations and restrictions, estimated prices and applicable prohibitions, will be those that govern at the time of payment.

For this, it will be essential that the first partial shipment of said merchandise is presented within the period established in Article 83 of the Law (LA: Art. 83) and that the following partial shipments correspond to the merchandise that have arrived at the same time, in the same means of transport and are dispatched within a period of 3 months from the date of payment.
